Last but not the least

Five blogs I've wrote here in my blog, all of those six blogs was all about Information Security. And for now, for the last six blogs as one of the subject requirements I will make sure that no more "hugot lines" you will read for the next paragraphs.  For the last two weeks in our class, all topics have been spread out to the class as we were informed by our respected Professor Justin Pineda. He shared all about security measures that relates not just in our subject manner but also relates to everyday lives we encountered each day. As Sir Justin Pineda asked this question, "If someone hacks your system, will it be okay if you will hack him back?" In real life, its the same scenario as someone hurt you whether it is intentional or not, will you be that kind of person that will fights back just to get the revenge from that hacker or attacker?  This is the topic discussed for the last two weeks. A subject matter that tackles the importance of pysical ...

Internet Censorship, does it a must for all of Us?

Image
Another two weeks have passed, we are almost about to be very busy as the Final term approaching! For this last two weeks we are all very busy in INFOSEC class as we are preparing for the debate in terms of the Government and Opposition side. Our group assigned on the Government side which we had a topic of Internet Censorship in enforcing in China. We are on our side that it must also be implemented here in the Philippines. Internet Censorship focus on one main idea, Internet and Restriction. Having the policies made by the government must be follow. However, we are all concern with regards to Internet Censorship what if having this kind of regulations is that the government were actually at the point of getting one's privacy using the internet. Online Privacy has been one of the biggest challenges in today's interconnected world, as the governments across the world have been found censoring the Internet, stealing information and conducting mass surveillan...

Ethics: Policy and Behavior

Deadline will always be a deadline. In its simplest way of saying it, You're Late!   To all bloggers and readers who take time to read my blog. I thank you! And also, I am thanking the man of he hour, Sir Justin Pineda who always find time to read every blog of all of his students. I know Sir, I am out of the deadline that this blog should have been posted before 28th of  July. Deadline that I should meet is the main subject of this blog and I failed to make it before the deadline.  This lead me to go back from two meetings we had discussed in Information Security class. A business ethics that all company meet to satisfy each and every workers and their loyal customers. The word "Ethics" which makes me realized that as of now being a third year student, it tells me that I should be aware of my behavior in class. One example is the deadline of this 4th blog post that should been posted on or before the 28th of July.  Business Ethics is a term used ...

Privacy: Protecting ones Identity

For you, what is Privacy? A different perspective must not always the same as the other. Maybe your answer will different thing from your friend's answer. The question that lead me to extract my inner cognitive skills and to find out more what is really a PRIVACY? Some might say, -A Privacy is a something that you own it and you need to secure it, others will defined it as "Securing ones personal information." All answers are definitely related to one term, Privacy. But it will not just end to it. Privacy is a broad topic, a concept that links to another issue to make it as another idea. Constitutional Laws, some implentation of the companies' rules and regulations and  many more. These were just some part of it, Privacy itself is not just limited to it.  On my perspective, Privacy is a thing that people will usually do and that is to protect ones identity. For the last two weeks, we have learned on our subject, Information Security all the basis and the concept ...

Security has own Model too

Image
Another three weeks had passed. New topics, new activities and other stuff to do. Having a role model to society is a big factor to say that this country still needs you. And like me as a student, I have roles too. For the three weeks in our Information Security class, I am able to get familiarize with all the models presented in the class by Sir Justin Pineda. Organizing Security models is one topic we all been aware of. Sir Pineda was able to discussed three models. Bell-LaPadula model, Biba  and Clark-Wilson model. Bell-LaPadula model is describing to the access of internet and having the controls which can be labeled on any objects. An access control to all objects having the permission or a clearance to the said objects before you can actually access it. The model have a so-called Security labels which divided to its range. "Top Secret" is the priority. "Public" on the other hand is the least priority. Bell-LaPadula model is a kind of Security model where prot...

INFOSEC: Are you willing to take the risk?

Some of you might ask while you were reading my blog, what does Infosec mean? Is it a new taste of food that might be connected to the title itself? "Are you willing to take the risk?" Or is it a new trend technology that you are not aware of? And now, to end that question to your mind with regards to the question title itself, let me introduce you to our subject; the Information Security.  Infosec or the subject description itself, Information Security tackles all the ideas which will be connected and will depend on the security concept. Two weeks had passed and we already started our first opening of our class being a successful third year college student! An adjective of the term "successful" which I have used, is something we are currently pertaining to all the subjects we enrolled this term. Information security is one of the subject that we are currently working on. All the System Software student from the block of SS151 are all excited to learn more abou...

Last stop. The Routing Information Protocol

Leaving the Networks… Soon! A nother two weeks had passed, the feeling of missing two things are definitely the saddest ending of my life. First stuff I would miss the most is all the subjects that encourage me more to study and to study and pushing it more to study HARD! All the subjects I encountered this term is like the campaign of the President today. “Anti-Drugs Campaign” or so-called “War against Drugs”. It’s like General Dela Rosa and I were in a struggle to capture those Drug user. In my part, I feel like my job is to take down all these subjects and finish all it up just to make my President Mr. and Mrs. Claveria being so proud of their little soldier. We are in the same line, General “Bato” were still in the fight trying to capture those pusher and saving all the drug user. I am in my line trying to get my job done in a cleanest way. Not in the way of killing some of the user or the drug pusher, but in a way that will make my final grades become all in number form. ...

Routing Config

What a draining week yet an exciting one for all of us as we go on to our last minute of the school term. A draining week I said, well for most of us especially for all the groups who will present in front of the class is the feeling they are all experiencing and so do I. We are all very tired doing research paper in other subjects, doing the group project and so many more stuff to do. For the three of the groups who presented in a class was a bit feeling of happiness and at the same time, -it feels like HEAVEN my friend! Two groups in our class received their 20 points by presenting it early showing off their sniffing tool and its function. While for our group, we got 15 points by illustrating our tools that was selected by our leader chosen from the list of our professor that had given us. We are assigned to show it on class to let them know the stuff we had researched on. Capsa free snipping tool is a licensed product of Colasoft, a company that offers software products. Capsa free...

Wireshark: Inspecting the Data Traffic

Image
How come you acknowledge the connection between a local host and the server? How about me? I am always there beside you and still lack of appreciation coming from you. How about us? What happen to the connection between us? I think it is already time for the both of us to at least ask for someone’s help. Wireshark, I need you, where are you my friend?  Unlike you, Wireshark is something that can help me to better understand how the SYN- SYN-ACK- “Acknowledgement” works.  These past two weeks, after a successful midterm presentation we already conducted a session by learning to use Wireshark software application. Presenting your PowerPoint Presentation in front of the class is not that hard but showing to them how credible you are presenting all of those information is not that easy. It was not easy presenting to your audience most especially to our professor how you will deliver each information you and the group researched on and how the execution of giving them t...

The Continuation... Of the Internet Protocol Configuration

ALMOST THERE... Just like in a basketball game this class is on its way to the halftime break, DNETCOM is almost in a halfway through the midterm down to the final period. It’s been six weeks of getting to know more about Data Networks and Data Communication.  Understanding the concept of every term used in the subject and simulating every networks that needs to be done in a packet tracer are the two main priority when you are studying the networks. Last two meetings the person in charge of the class gave us a task to get the exercises done by identifying the all the possible servers, devices to be used and even the configuration set-up to be used when simulating the networks. Sir. Justin Pineda also taught us on how to configure the Internet Protocol addresses in the packet tracer. In the same token he added some tutorials on how to configure the servers and how it will send a mail through networks. Having the idea on how to further understand the concept of enteri...

The Network: Designing while Configuring!

Image
“Welcome back!” “It’s nice to…   Wait, what is this? It supposed to be a greetings for the readers. It’s not supposed to be a greetings for me, the message that I share with all my readers in my previous blog. But, I already put it there. Let me greet you for a moment my fellow bloggers and to all my charming and lovable readers. Welcome back to my second blog, Bloggers! I hope all of you who read my blog got something I shared with you guys on my previous blog post! The topic like all the topology or the network design that commonly used for designing your own desired network. Some of the examples I gave about the network architecture and even introduced you to  DNETCOM On its 2-4 meetings passed by, we learned something new and something more technical in terms of discovering more about the networks. There comes the process of creating our own network using the Packet Tracer and configuring each devices that we used in our exercises. The main purpose of this appli...

Getting to know each other: Me and the Networks

“Welcome back!”  “It’s nice to see you again bro!”  “How’s your one week break?”  Some lines you’ve heard on your first day of class in APC. These were the three famous lines greet me when I entered my first subject. And some of my friend asked me something like, “Hey bro what was your GPA on our first term?” and a question like “Did you get an R grade in your previous term?” The funny thing about that is you knew that all of these questions asked to me are also the questions or the topic that we had discussed all throughout the term break. All the group chat that I belong to is full of a conversation that has one idea, it was just all the grades on our first term stay in APC during our second academic year. Atlas! My first subject is already done. Another math-related subject came in through my life, but its fine with me as long as Ms. Wednesday will be our professor. It was 09:15 exactly in the morning when I felt nervous at that time. That beautiful first day ...

18 - Anti-Smoking Campaign!

Am I a SMOKER? In the Philippines, one of the branch of the government that promoting an Anti Smoking Campaign will be the MMDA or the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. You can always saw their slogan, poster and even a sticker that are posted in public transportation vehicle and even at the malls or in a highway.  In the poster, we always read the word "Smoke-free" means, you should not smoke here in this area where it is posted. But, is this really followed by some men and women who smoke a lot? Is this rule always implemented? Or it is just a rule? I repeat, Is this always implemented or it is "Just a Rule!"This question I want to ask for those people who wants to implement it. Are they really be followed by all the Filipinos in this country?  I think it is not. And I strongly can say that it is not totally rules. It is just a two words, "NO SMOKING," wanting every smoker to do it but in total it was not that strict to be foll...

17 - SOCSIT week!

Image
July 28, 2015 is the day of   EXCITEMENT , ENJOYMENT and most of all it is the day of ENCHANTMENT! Why did I mentioned all of these words? First, let me tell you why I'm very excited last July 28, 2015. It w as the day w hen SOCSIT week started. First thing happened that I will not forget about it during that time will be the required attire for all the freshmen of Computer Science and Information Technology: We are all required to wear a 90's attire. That time I remembered that I'm almost about to ran on the malls just to look presentable and look 90's fashion. But, what excite me the most is that, my mother reminds me to look for some attire in our cabinet. She told me that I have an attire for 90's which it is owned by my godparent. And yes! I have it, I have an attire like I'm back in 90's. And then it is done. I wore it in our university. My excitement goes beyond the enjoyment when in the afternoon that day, we went to the parking lot of our univer...

16 - "What makes someone a hero?"

Image
Has anyone here literally saved the world? This questions I asked for all the bloggers out there, "Has anyone of you literally save the world? Of course, most of you will answer my question; "I'm not Superman, I'm not Batman... I'm just an ordinary person." Yeah! Its true that we are not like them. We are not one of those superheroes trying to save the world perhaps or maybe try to die as long as you helped others. Being a superhero doesn't always comes to "A man of Steel," "A Wonder Woman." or even the "Powerful one." Sometimes, helping ones hand is a form of greatness to everyone. Not just helping them, rather, giving thyself a hand to hold on when somebody is in need. Being a hero can sometimes be a role model to anyone.  You can show who you really are!  You can show to others what can you do and what can they do to you too. It is a vice versa right? If you helped them, they will do the same thing on you too. ...

15 - Friendship means a lot!

Image
Hello there Bloggers! Do you think I'm done here based on my blog post number 14? Uh, Uh... Not either, I'm just getting you excited on the last part of the chapter of being a great friend. Just like what my friend told me when we both together solving the mathematical equation, "Pinapakilig ka lang." :) And here it is the last chapter of that book:   CHAPTER VI: How to keep your friendship There are some things that we should know in able to keep our friendship long and strong. This chapter tackles about the simple things that we should know in keeping a friendship like taking down notes that are short and sweet that everyone enjoys receiving them. Books are also a good source of information and insight into human nature. Trough books both you and your friend can seek out self-improvement. If you want that your friendship last, one of the most important things is to be honest with your friend. It is important to verbalize what you feel, your insight and even...

14 - Down to the Last

Image
CHAPTER IV:  Be Positive This chapter basically discuss about the positivity in friendship. According to this chapter friends are gifts to help us along life's path. Like in marriage, friendship must also center my God so that there is guidance between your friendships. Possibly, when God allows those lonely seasons He's teaching us to appreciate the value of a good friend. Joining bible study group allows us to get to know with our friends in a more meaningful way. Make sure that when things go wrong we should wait until we get the facts from our friend before thinking the worst. This book also suggests that we read books or other materials that enhance positive thought pattern because negativity can bring others and the friendship down. CHAPTER V: Handling Problems This chapter tackles on how to handle problems or misunderstanding within your friends. Trust is very important in building relationship but betrayal tears friendship apart. Secret is a secret in ...

13 - Friend, Next two chapters Please!

Image
I knew it! My fellow bloggers can’t wait any longer to read the next two chapters which I typed it down. I wrote here what is all about together with my opinion about some topic on how to be a great friend. Enjoy reading the Chapter 2 and 3 bloggers.  CHAPTER II: Be Sensitive Two friends must be sensitive to the needs and limitations with each other. According to this chapter studies have shown that there are undeniable healing properties in physical touch. For example a handshake is a signal of closeness and caring for each other. On the other hand if gestures are important then the power of our tongue is more powerful. According to one of the Chinese menu "Flavor your speech sweeter and a little less sour.” Words are not the only important but how we say them is just as important. Everyone desires to be appreciated and affirmed so we verbalize our feelings to our friends but when we are having a conversation with them we should remember that no one should hold on ...

Hello Bloggers! First, I want to ask all of you if anyone here have read my twelfth blog post title? Literally, who are those readers already read this? Kindly, comment here what can you say about that book. I know it was an astonishing book to be read by. And you can relate here in my blog if you read it. :)   It was a book for "Friendship." This book shown how to be a great friend and gave some tips on how this friendship will grow longer and make the sayings 'FOREVER' possible even with your friends. Here is my views on the first chapter of the book.  CHAPTER I: Forming New Friends This chapter tackles about how to make friends with people especially those with the same interest as we do. Friendship requires simple things like always make it to a point to greet your friends regularly because little kindness brightens everyone's day. Friendship should also be a give and take relationship. If we do have budgets we at least purchase small gi...
