Routing Config
What a draining week yet an exciting one for all of us as we go on to our last minute of the school term. A draining week I said, well for most of us especially for all the groups who will present in front of the class is the feeling they are all experiencing and so do I. We are all very tired doing research paper in other subjects, doing the group project and so many more stuff to do. For the three of the groups who presented in a class was a bit feeling of happiness and at the same time, -it feels like HEAVEN my friend! Two groups in our class received their 20 points by presenting it early showing off their sniffing tool and its function. While for our group, we got 15 points by illustrating our tools that was selected by our leader chosen from the list of our professor that had given us. We are assigned to show it on class to let them know the stuff we had researched on. Capsa free snipping tool is a licensed product of Colasoft, a company that offers software products. Capsa free is a kind of software that provides a network analyzer which performs a real-time packet capturing.
This week, we also learn how to configure the basic routing operations. We also taught how to configure the router in a given network. Connecting the network through the others was also taught by our professor. He demonstrate us an example of a school organization that can be possibly connected as one in network. Even though both of the school organizations are connected through their networks, it does not necessarily mean they are also have the same routing information. Security is still presented when both of the organizations view in each other. This idea was presented by our professor as he shown us and teach us on how to set up a configuration through the network.
When it talks about the best path that the network passes through, as both of the college organization connected as one. Entering in a bigger amount of network is better than entering in a shortest path but have a low network value. For example, a small information will sent to the APC network coming from NU network. Having two routers passage will not be a fastest and shortest way that the information can go to, it still best to enter in a passage having two to three routers but have a 1 or 2.0 Mbps. Having 1 router, for example that the information will go through is not good as it will goes to 56 Kilobytes network speed rather than passing through Mbps network speed.
Routing in a packet switching networks, it is a concept of having direct contact of network from their source toward the other. Static routing has been presented in a class that has a concept of configuring a router manually. Static routes are manually configured by a network administrator by adding an entries into a routing table, though this may not always be the case. It was implemented to maximize routing efficiency and to provide backups.
Two weeks had been passed, another week is coming. It is now time to make my exit point and back to the work I am assigned off. It’s time to get all this stuff done. Documentation, research, incoming defense… here I’ll come! Just wait for me and I’ll be there no matter how hard you are to get. I am just here trying to get myself more focus and I will catch you, my little friend SUCCESS!
